Hi,

I am currently a 33yr old metal fabricator and getting let go .As I have never really enjoyed this and have a great intrest in IT I have decided to go into a evening course on either web design and develpoment or the networking side of IT.I have been on other forums with people telling me certs and dip. are worthless in a web design/development career and that most college work is really out dated in this country.I was going to start with the fundementals of software design (minor award)followed by advanced web development.As for networking this is a little clearer.Start with COMPtia A+ ,N+ and on to the MCSE/MCSA.But again I am told I can have all the certs I want but with no experience they are useless.If anybody has any thoughts or help it would be great to hear your replies.
