Postby Guest » Tue Feb 24, 2009 4:57 pm

Hi Miriam,

I have a degree in Portuguese and English Literature and I have taught at home I also did some translation work at home and some interpretation work here. I would like to study "Translation & Interpretation". Is there any course I could do it here?

I appreciate your help.

Thanks

Hi Tania. There are several postgraduate courses relating to translating: DCU has a Grad.Dip/MA in Translation Studies. See www.dcu.ie/prospective/deginfo.php?clas ... &mode=full for details. Trinity College has an MPhil in Literary Translation. See www.tcd.ie/Graduate_Studies/prospective ... urse_id=20. NUi Galway also has an MA in Translation Studies. See www.nuigalway.ie/postgrad/go4th/ma_translation.html and so does UCC. It may be difficult to find one that accepts Portuguese as the language for entry though. Miriam

Hi there! I'm going to be a theatre major when I go off to college in a year and a half, but this question is concerning my minor. When I am not acting, I would love to be a sign language interpreter for the musicals, plays, etc. that take place downtown. However, this of course means that I actually have to learn sign language. I don't know the specifics, though, on taking courses in it. Are there any universities that you know of which offer ASL as a course?

This is an Irish website. You would have to check with your local education authority in the USA to see where you could do a course in American Sign Language.
