ACCA exams

Postby clairecheri » Thu Oct 16, 2008 7:12 am

Hi! I\'m having a lot of trouble getting info about this- I have a BA, am working full time and have decided to take up accountancy (completely from scratch). I can\'t give up work, so would just be registering with ACCA then taking the exams, starting with foundation 1. Also- I cannot attend night class on a regular basis as I work on a shift. Therefore I would be looking at home study.
The problem I\'m having is- how realistic is it that I could get the required 3 years work experience in order to become a memeber of ACCA? Would employers give me a chance even though I have no background in finance or business?
Would it be better to devote myself to accountancy full time and hope to get myself on some kind of work experience associated with the college?
Thanks! :?

Hi Clairecheri. I am afraid that I could not answer that for you. Maybe you could contact the ACCA themselves and have a chat with someone there? You will find them at 9 Leeson Park, Dublin 6 (01-498 8900). Miriam
